The psychological thriller manga series, Kakegurui 一 Compulsive Gambler, is getting a 2.5D stage play adaptation. A teaser visual featuring the main character Yumeko Jabami was also revealed. Yumeko Jabami is played by Kanisawa Moeko, a member of J-pop idol group ≠ME, making this her first lead role in a stage play production. Joining her are Seiichiro Nagata as Ryota Suzui, and Moeka Koizumi as Mary Saotome.
The stage play is directed by Daisuke Nishida, who is known for directing other stage play adaptations such as Vinland Saga The Stage, Moriarty The Patriot The Stage, Blood Blockade Battlefront stage play series, and the Joker Game stage play series.
Kakegurui 一 Compulsive Gambler Stage will be performed at Theater H in Tokyo, Japan, running from Friday, September 5th to Sunday, September 14th, 2025 JST. There will be an advance/early ticket lottery for the stage play. The lottery application can be found in the May edition of Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine and will run from May 22nd, 12 PM JST to June 8, 2025, 11:59 PM JST.
Kakegurui 一 Compulsive Gambler is a psychological thriller manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura. It first began serialization in March 2014 in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker Magazine. It inspired a spinoff prequel manga, a live-action drama, a live-action film, and an upcoming live-action English adaptation produced by Netflix called Bet. There are 19 manga volumes as of May 2025.
