The 2005 adult visual novel School Days, which inspired a 2007 TV anime with an unforgettable ending, is getting a remaster this year. The announcement revealed that the new release is titled Schooldays Remaster and will be a Windows 11-exclusive.
To commemorate the reveal, the White & CrossLoad Cafe at Akihabara started to feature posters and flyers of the remaster on the same date (May 31 JST). The cafe is offering a School Days series collaboration menu from May 28 JST to June 15 JST in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Before Schooldays Remaster, the Overflow-developed visual novel received an updated release titled School Days HQ, which is described as a “High Quality remake and graphic upgrade” with additional, uncensored “ero scenes.” This version of the game was first released in Japan in 2010.
School Days is the first in the Days series, which includes the titles SummerDays, Cross Days, SHINY DAYS, and IslandDays. Aside from the 12-episode TV anime and two OVAs (produced by TNK and directed by Keitaro Motonaga [Date A Live Season 1 to 3]), it has also inspired novels and a manga.
