Awajima Hyakkei Reveals 1st Trailer - The Awajima Hyakkei TV anime, which follows the girls of the Awajima music academy, has received a two-minute trailer previewing newcomer Wakana Tabata and her interactions with some of the other students. The soothing trailer, which includes a scene awash with an evocative blue-green, was accompanied by the reveal of the show’s April 2026 premiere window.
The anime also received a character visual for Wakana, the first in a series that will be released over three months. Additionally, it was announced that Nina Nakabayashi is voicing Wakana, while Yo Taichi is dorm leader Kinue Takahara.
Awajima Hyakkei is an adaptation of the manga by Takako Shimura, which received an Award for Excellence in the manga category of the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. It’s directed by Morio Asaka (Cardcaptor Sakura, Chihayafuru, Loving Yamada at Lv999!) at Madhouse.
The Ohta Publishing-published manga began in June 2011 and ended in March 2024. It was first serialized in the now-defunct Pocopoco before moving to Ohta Web Comic.
