No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 – Some unfortunate news has emerged regarding No Rest for the Wicked. The game's 1.0 release, originally slated for October 2026, has officially been delayed. So, what happened?
Why is the No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 Release Delayed?
Why is the 1.0 release of No Rest for the Wicked being delayed?
The decision was announced directly by Moon Studios CEO, Thomas Mahler, in a video message. He acknowledged that despite the development team's hard work, the game requires extra time to be fully ready for its official launch.
Further Explanation from the Developer
The developers have provided further context on the delay
In the video, Mahler explained that since the release of the “Together” update earlier this year, the team has been in a full sprint to add content, finalize class systems, and ensure all features implemented in the 1.0 version are polished.
However, after several playtesting sessions, they realized they were close, but "close" isn't good enough.
Instead, Moon Studios will hold an open Public Test Realm (PTR) this December. Players will be able to test new features, including the refined class system, before the official release in March 2027.
No Rest for the Wicked
Mahler emphasized that No Rest for the Wicked is an ambitious project in development since 2016, and they want to ensure no "silly bugs" remain upon launch.
In addition to the PTR, as a gesture of appreciation for the players' patience, Moon Studios is extending the Founders Pack eligibility deadline to January 1, 2027, for PC players, moving it from the previous July 10 cutoff.
This gives players an extra five months to purchase the game and secure the Founders Pack. For PS5 players, pre-orders will open in January 2027 with similar offers.
The Founders Pack includes exclusive items such as the Spirit Cavern (secret hideout), Sayer’s Vow (unique sword), a special Founder tag, and access to the exclusive Public Beta Test Realm, which will remain active even after the full game launch.
