The Scum of the Brave TV anime has received a teaser trailer and January 2026 premiere date. Scum of the Brave is based on the light novel by Rocket Syokai, which was released under the KADOKAWA Books label in December 2016. The story is set in a world where yakuza can become demon kings and the business of killing them as been legalized in the form of heroes. Yashiro, a no-good hero, becomes a tutor to some high school girls who are aspiring to become heroes.
The original light novel was illustrated by Yuya Kusaka. A new version with revisions and illustrations from toi8 was announced with the anime this year. Scum of the Brave was originally a Kakuyomu web novel. The light novel has a manga adaptation by Nakashima 723.
Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is based on a webcomic inspired by the K-pop group ENHYPEN. The comic began in 2022 and is part of Webtoon’s Super Casting project, “a new group of partnerships with global entertainment companies to create webcomics or web novels for each platform.”
The HYBE entertainment company is credited as the webcomic’s creator and has also produced similar works, some in the format of web novels, in collaboration with BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Ize Press publishes the webcomic’s physical volumes in English.

Aniplex has released a main trailer for the Gnosia TV anime adaptation, previewing more of the space thriller’s cast and paranoia as well as its newly announced theme songs. Also revealed were an October 11 JST (effectively October 12 at 12AM JST) premiere date and a key visual.
The theme songs are MAISONdes feat. Kobo Kanaeru, Kasane Teto, Giga & TeddyLoid‘s “Bake no Kawa” (opening) and Ling Toshite Shigure‘s “Loo% Who%” (ending). Gnosia is based on the sci-fi social deduction thriller video game by Petit Depotto, which was originally released in 2019 for PS Vita before being ported to other platforms like Nintendo Switch, Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Store.
Synopsis:
The crew of a drifting spaceship, facing off against a mysterious and deadly threat known as the “Gnosia” and having no idea who among them is really the enemy, formulate a desperate plan for survival. The most suspicious among them will be put into “cold sleep” one by one, in an effort to rid the ship of Gnosia.
Gnosia is a Sci-Fi Social Deduction RPG in which you will engage in discussion with a variety of unique characters, with the aim of identifying the Gnosia among the group. Players will have to use what information they can gather during the discussions to ascertain whom they think is Gnosia and then vote to put them into cold sleep. As you progress, your abilities will improve but so will those of the crew.
As the numbers of crew members, Gnosia, and various “roles” increase, it will become increasingly difficult to determine who is telling the truth. Work in collaboration with or against other crew members to ensure your survival until the end.
The Ogre’s Bride anime has received a 2026 release date, a teaser trailer, and a teaser visual. There is a manga drawn by Jun Togashi, which won the main prize at Comic Cmoa’s Minna ga Erabu!! Denshi Comic Taishou 2023.
The Ogre’s Bride is based on the Starts Publishing-published novel series by Kureha. The story is set in a Japan where humans and ayakashi co-exist. Protagonist Yuzu is a plain high schooler who is compared with her younger sister, the bride of a fox spirit, and treated unfavorably by her family. However, her fortunes change when she meets a handsome oni.
A new key visual, trailer, and four additional cast members have been revealed for the upcoming Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider TV anime series at this year’s Aniplex Online Fest. The anime will begin broadcasting in Japan on October 4, 2025 and will stream on Crunchyroll worldwide.
Takahiro Ikezoe (SHOW BY ROCK!!) is directing the anime series, with Toko Machida (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!) as series screenwriter, Cindy H. Yamauchi (Divine Gate) as character designer, and TeddyLoid (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt) as music composer. LIDENFILMS is in charge of the animation production.
Additional staff include Yoshihiro Ujiie (The Water Magician) as prop designer, Ishigaki Pro’s Yukihiro Shibutani (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You Seasons 1-2) and Ayano Aizu as art directors, and movwav’s Takayuki Yamaguchi (Steins;Gate 0) as sound director.
The anime is based on the tokusatsu manga series by Yokusaru Shibata. It was first published by Hero’s Inc.’s Monthly Hero’s magazine on May 1, 2018, before moving to the Comiplex website on November 27, 2020. Sixteen tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that it will be launching an audiobook adaptation of the light novel series My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s through its Siren imprint. The audiobook adaptation will be narrated by Knox Riley, with the first volume set to be released for the first time in English on September 18, 2025.
The original isekai fantasy light novel series, written by Matsuri Akai and illustrated by Tozai. was first published by Overlap’s Overlap Bunko imprint on November 25, 2017. Four volumes have been released as of February 2021, with a fifth volume set to be published in Japan on September 25, 2025. The series began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in January 2017. It also inspired a manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Aigamo in July 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment also licensed both the light novels and manga for English release. A TV anime adaptation from Sunrise will begin broadcasting in Japan in October 2025.

The official Twitter/X account for the upcoming My Awkward Senpai TV anime series has announced that it will premiere in Japan on October 2, 2025. The anime will be released on the U-NEXT and Anime Hodai streaming services in Japan on October 2, while on TV, it will broadcast on the Tokyo MX and BS NTV TV channels the same day. It will also be released on the AT-X channel on October 3, 2025 and other streaming services on October 6, 2025.
Ayumu Kotake (Acro Trip) is directing the anime series, with Mio Inoue (Slow Start series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter, Acro Trip co-scenario writer) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter and Kenro Tokuda (Acro Trip sub-character designer) as character designer. Studio Elle is in charge of the animation production. Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast stars Lynn as Azusa Kannawa, Shogo Sakata as Yu Kamegawa, Ami Maeshima as Miho Hotta, and Mitsuki Saiga as Ritsu Kankaiji.
Makoto Kudo‘s original romantic comedy manga has been serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine since December 6, 2019. Nine tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2025, with a 10th volume set to be published in Japan on September 25, 2025. The manga is being released in English digitally on the Manga UP! Global app and Comikey.

Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! is based on the light novel series by Kanata Hoshi and illustrated by Peperon. The light novel series is published under the K Lanove Books f label and currently has three volumes published between April 2021 and April 2023. The story started as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel in 2019. The anime was originally meant to premiere in April.
