The Egao No Taenai Shokuba Desu TV anime, an adaptation of the manga-themed workplace comedy manga by Kuzushiro, will begin airing this October. A teaser trailer and visual have been released.
Kaoru Suzuki (DIVE!!) is directing the show with Mio Inoue (Slow Start) as series composer, and Kana Miyai (The Apothecary Diaries co-sub character designer, RWBY: Ice Queendom co-main animator) as character designer. The main cast includes:
• Yuko Natsuyoshi as Nana Futami
• Sora Amamiya as Kanade Sato
• Miku Ito as Mizuki Hazama
The Egao No Taenai Shokuba Desu manga began serialization on Kodansha’s Comic DAYS in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of November 2024. The “working girls comedy” follows a newcomer female manga artist (Nana) with occasional delusions, her older editor (Kanade), and her assistant (Mizuki).
