Mermaid Anime Goodbye, Lara Reveals Teaser Trailer

 The promising The Little Mermaid-inspired original anime Goodbye, Lara, which made its first surface appearance last May, has received a brief but breathtaking teaser trailer, a second teaser visual, and a visual for the titular mermaid princess Lara. A 2026 premiere date was also revealed.

Additionally, it was announced that Hana Hishikawa is the voice Lara. According to the premise, Lara once fell in love with a human prince and used a potion from the witch Grace to assume human form. Alas, Lara was ultimately reduced to bubbles by the potion as a result of being unable to find true love. 200 years later, Lara reappears in Lake Biwa.

Besides Koide, the show has Shiori Tani (Revue Starlight prop designer, Revue Starlight the Movie co-main animator and animation director et al.) on character designs, Anna Kawahara (Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo live-actiond rama co-writer) as series composer, and yuma yamaguchi (Undead Murder Farce) as music composer.
