Crunchyroll announced today that the ongoing The Beginning After the End TV anime adaptation will continue with a second season in Spring 2026. The second season will stream on the platform, as it did with the first season, which began broadcasting in Japan on April 2, 2025.
Ahead of season two’s debut, the company also released a post-credits scene clip from the anime’s upcoming 12th episode, which serves as the first season’s finale and will premiere on June 18, 2025 at 10:25 AM PST / 1:25 PM EST.
Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live Seasons 1-3, Katanagatari) is directing the anime series, with Takamitsu Kono (Utawarerumono: The False Faces, A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special) as series screenwriter, Masami Sueoka (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human) as character designer, and Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as music composer. Studio A-CAT is handling the animation production, with Slow Curve credited with the general production.
TurtleMe (the pseudonym of American writer Brandon Lee) is involved in the adaptation as story supervisor and executive producer. Tapas Entertainment’s Mike Zhu, Kevin Nicklaus, and Gabrielle Luu are credited as executive producers.
TurtleMe’s series began as a web novel published by Tapas on January 18, 2017. Fuyuki23 provided the illustrations for the webtoon comic adaptation, which began serialization on Tapas’ website on July 7, 2018. Seven print volumes have been released as of March 2025, with an eighth volume set for release on July 22, 2025 and a ninth volume on November 25, 2025. Yen Press releases the webtoon comic adaptation in English print, while Tapas releases the series digitally.
