Kaiju No. 8 The Game‘s global Steam release date has been revealed to be October 1. The turn-based RPG and gacha game previously launched for mobile devices on August 31 JST, where it recently hit Version 1.1.0. The official X/Twitter account said on September 12 that it had reached more than 3 million downloads.
Kaiju No. 8 The Game features an original narrative for its main story that involves mysterious Kaiju Dimensional Gates. It also has an original character called Sagan Shinomiya, who’s voiced by Akari Kito and is a non-blood related elder sibling of Kikoru Shinomiya.
“We wanted to create a character who is closely connected to the anime cast so that fans of the anime can also enjoy the game. At the same time, we were careful not to create a character that would interfere too heavily with the story of the anime,” developer Akatsuki Games’ Yu Sasaki (project leader) and Tomonobu Nozawa (producer) told Anime Trending before the game’s release. They also described the shield-bearing leader of the CLOZER special unit (which is investigating the Kaiju Dimensional Gates) as being a “strong leader” with a “lovable, slightly scatterbrained side.”
